Meet Katie doyle, LMFT PMH-C
Think you are broken? Too lost to find home?
Life is a struggle right now! I can’t catch up and I have not time to rest. I no longer believe tomorrow will be easier.
I am so tired!
Don’t you wish you had a remote for life? Go ahead and hit that pause button, schedule a consult with me today.
You’re in the right place.
Share your pain with me.
I had postpartum depression and anxiety as well as grieved my brother who suddenly died at age 22. I know the desperation and anxiety you likely feel. I know the struggle between what is happening now and how great it could be “if only.” The tiny sliver of hope that is quickly squashed by thoughts that “it won’t ever get better, how could it?” It can and it will! I will help you find yourself in all the negative thoughts and painful emotions. Please tell me your story.
My style
I can’t solve this, time to soothe! Where is my blankie and white noise machine?
We are wired to solve problems! Its feels good, exciting, and sometimes we earn bragging rights or even prizes! But parenting is not a problem. Emotions are not a problem. Behavior can be a problem but we can only change our behavior if we first soothe our emotions. Just like you teach your little one to self soothe, I will teach you emotional soothing.
Behaving within our values, soothes painful emotions. What do you truly care about? Has it changed since becoming a parent? If you don’t know what you care about, that’s OK! I can help you identify what you care about.
Ideally, when we let our values guide our behaviors, we will feel happy and proud. When emotions guide our behaviors we will often “get it wrong” and feel guilty or shameful. I don’t value yelling at my kids but when I am angry, scared, or tired, it sometimes happens.
My guiding values
Compassion
Therapy with me is driven by my genuine desire to connect and hear your pain. Your pain is not “too much” for me. I deeply care about helping people through perinatal struggles, anxiety, and grief.
Trust
Therapy is a safe space to explore your darkest, scary thoughts. Whatever you are going through is welcome, all judgments are left outside our room! Nothing is “too much” or “wrong.”
Safety
Talking about emotions can make them feel more intense. We will make decisions together on how deep we go and set healthy boundaries.
Transparency
I want you to feel comfortable and welcome. We will be building a unique relationship where your needs are most important. We will discuss our plan together and you are in charge.
